April 2009 Reader Hype Thread

It’s time once again for you, gentle reader, to tell all the other gentle readers of this blog about what you’re working on, what you’re excited about, what you’re evangelizing… whatever you want to hype in your life or in the lives of the people you love and admire, so long as it’s something that’s happening this month, April 2009.

Don’t think your audience and my audience are the same and it’s not worth hyping here… you never know who might be reading!

Get to it! Put you hype in the comments, and don’t forget to leave a link!

    Thanks for the opportunity, MWS!

Some of you might know me for my science fiction books on Podiobooks.com, Vatican Assassin, Vatican Ambassador and Vatican Abdicator. I write, and sometimes draw, some other books that don’t translate to audio as easily – comic books! You can read pages from my brand new comic book for free. And another comic of mine just became available for your Kindle for 99 cents.

    Panthea Obscura:
Read New Pages Free on the Web Every Wednesday and Saturday through the end of May!

The beings who long ago inspired the stories of “gods” have reappeared among us – gods help us all? Or kill us all?! The fourth and final issue of the miniseries is coming out later this month, but you can read new pages on the web now! The entire series so far is up at Drunk Duck.com. When you click over you’ll get the most recent page. Scroll down below the picture and click “first” to start at the beginning. Panthea Obscura is a four issue comic book miniseries created and written by Mike Luoma, Art by JC Quattordio, Letters by Pablo Lizalde. You can get hard copies through my site http://glowinthedarkradio.com.

My first comic, released in early 2006, was the non-fiction, critically acclaimed “Holy Shit: Or… Pat Robertson Is The Anti-Christ”. This one was all me – I drew and hand-lettered every black and white page. Taking advantage of the Amazon Kindle 2′s better graphics capability, as of today, April 1st, “Holy Shit: Or… Pat Robertson…” is now available for the Amazon Kindle for just 99 cents! Here’s the link: http://tinyurl.com/c7zv7m All of my books are now just 99 cents for the Kindle. Hit my site for more: http://glowinthedarkradio.com

    Thanks again!
    Mike

Is this limited to writers? Because I am not a writer per se. I write my news stories and commercials but not fiction. Plus my podcasting hobby takes up all of my spare time (what little of it there is)

    • Matt says:

      Certainly not limited to writers!

I’m about to release a collection of short stories via http://www.podiobooks.com. (most of them have been published in audio format on my website). However, I’ve decided to write exclusively for the screen. It’s a big change and I’m psyched. And, it’s more than a little scary.

    • Matt says:

Hey, a Podiobooks series! Let me know if I can help with voices or intros or whatnot.

The screenwriting thing is awesome, too. I’m gonna be coming to you for screenwriting tips and resources eventually… it’s something I’ve got in the back of my mind for particular stories, but I have no experience in the medium so far.
