In Shock
I just found out… over two months after the fact, damn it… that Grant McLennan, one of the founding members of the Go-Betweens, one of my favorite songwriters from one of my favorite bands, who wrote my favorite song, died.
I feel like I’ve been cheated out of mourning all that time. Or, maybe it’s more accurate to say, I’m shoving two months of grief into right now.
I’ve got more to say about this. Expect a Sonitotum in a few days.
On Bush’s First Veto
I was all set to get righteous about Bush and his ridiculous, malinformed, politicized position on embryonic stem cell research, but this guy did it well enough.
Where’ve I Been?
Distracted. Single-minded on all the wrong things. Sluggish. Grumpy. Slow.
I’ve been sleeping hard. Staying up too late.
Soon, I’ll post something worthwhile. I’ll come back… to this blog, to LOTO, to all that good stuff.
It’s a lull. A dip in the road has peaks on either side. I’d like to get on a nice stretch of highway that’s flat and long, like the cover of the soundtrack to “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.” The original — not that piece of crap re-edit with the big boat in the desert.
