Podiobooks.com Receives New York Times Treatment!

Podiobooks.com, the site on which the podcast version of my first book, “Brave Men Run - A Novel of the Sovereign Era” is distributed, has a very nice mention in the March 1st edition of the New York Times (registration may be required to view the link — try it!)

The article focuses on my colleague Scott Sigler, who is far and away the most popular podiobook author thus far. All of Scott’s books are available on Podiobooks.com, and much of the article turns the spotlight on the site, giving gigantic shot-in-the-arm promotional juice to authors J.C Hutchins, Tee Morris, and Mark Jeffery as well as the site as a whole.

This is great news and a huge credibility boost to podcasting and independent publishing, and I couldn’t be happier.

In the interest of disclosure, for those who don’t know, I’ve been on the volunteer staff at Podiobooks.com since November of 2006 — I’m the title manager, the guy who uploads updates and new titles every week.

Sonitotum Episode Seven - Bass Therapy

This particular episode is not safe for work. Contains profanity, letting-off-steam, and sloppy musicianship.

The first Sonitotum in more than two months comes about after a generally rotten day. Rather than whine too much about about the specifics, I decide to relieve my frustrations by playing bass (including fragments of two songs co-written with Theresa Copell and Steven D. Harvey, respectively), talking about bass, touching on (ha ha) the bass guitar / sex connection, and singing a few old songs written on the bass: “1991,” “In The Afternoon,” and “Whiskey Razor.”

It’s bass therapy, and it’s not pretty.

After the catharsis is out of the way, I run through some of what’s been up over the last two months.
