Sonitotum Episode Fifteen — Through From the Other Side
I’m back from the storm of promotion that lead up to the release of my book, “Brave Men Run — A Novel of the Sovereign Era” from Swarm Press on July 13, 2008. The day-long web-a-thon was an unqualified success! I hope everyone enjoyed, or at least tolerated, all the podcast episodes I stuck in the feed that featured interviews with yours truly! If you couldn’t stand that, here at last is a real episode.
In it, I play a couple of songs from Downy Mildew, a great band from the late eighties / early nineties that triggered a big nostalgia jag in me. Also, there’s the return of the Five Minute Memoir, a little feedback, some promos, and a song from the band Choo Choo!
Also — a new voice mail line: 1-505-349-0386! This one won’t go away so long as I have a Skype account. So use it!
Music
- Downy Mildew:
- Elevator from An Oncoming Train
- Frown Song from Broomtree
- Bonus Video: Offering from Mincing Steps (Director: Michael Stipe)
- Choo Choo — A Little Wiser Now from Choo Choo

Sonitotum Episode Eleven — One From Many
My hiatus from podcasting is…. over! I’m back, and so is Sonitotum, with a new mission and format. In this episode, I talk about what’s coming up for the show, my reasons for Sonitotum’s new direction, and how you are part of it.
Also included: four songs from independent musicians, an impromptu commercial for my day job, and my usual yammering and brainspew!
Music
- The Shillas featuring Heather Welliver — “Faithful”
- Warm In The Wake — “Tame Thoughts” from “Gold Dust Trail,”
Livewire Recordings.
- Caldwell Shine — “Funny Thing” from “Which Way Is Mine”
- The outro bed music is Dan Wallace’s song, “Bound To Be Free” from the album “Culture Of Self”

The Future of Five Minute Memoir
Due to lack of interest and initiative on the part of contributors and lack of initiative when it comes to promotion on the part of, well, me, I have put Five Minute Memoir on hiatus.
All seven episodes — let’s call it “season one” — remain available. If anyone is interested in taking on the podcast and continuing its mission, we should talk!
