Music
I’m a bassist, vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. I wrote my first song (of over 200 and counting) in 1985, and since then I’ve performed in four bands, three duos, as a solo artist, and in several short-lived or casual projects.
An MP3 Archive
I’ve got a box — a big box — full of demos, live recordings, studio work, and other stuff from the last two decades. Slowly, I’m converting them to MP3 and uploading them for history’s sake and your possible enjoyment.
These songs were recorded under a variety of circumstances and conditions using a variety of media, including cassette four-track and two-track, DAT audio tape, mixing-board line out, direct to hard drive, and multi-track reel-to-reel. The performances took place in recording studios, rehearsal spaces, studio apartments, retail stores, garages, bedrooms, and live in bars, clubs, festivals, coffeehouses, and parties.
Due to the source material, expect a “lo-fi” level of sound quality on most of these recordings. Imperfections, background noise, and mistakes are included on many tracks!
Meant To Be Shared
The songs are provided under the conditions of the Creative Commons Music Sharing license. Other rights — such as for-profit re-recording or performance (covers), licensing for film, television, or other media, and derivative works — may be negotiated! Let’s talk!
Podcasters: If you’re so inclined, please use these songs in your podcasts. If you do, please let me know, and I’ll promote the applicable episode on this site and on my mailing list, with thanks!
