January 2025 Creative Endeavors Income Reporting

January 2025 by the Numbers

Every month, I share revenue and expenses directly related to my creative endeavors. This doesn’t include my work as a creative services provider working for authors, podcasters, and others, which is the majority of my monthly income (the “day job”).

I share this because you’re either a patron Multiversalist, or you’re a free Multiversalist and I’d like you to become a patron… and it’s only fair you see how your membership (or future membership) offsets expenses and helps supplement and, eventually, replace, my other revenue streams.

Creative Revenue

  • Multiversalist patron member dues (net): $240.33, a huge change from the previous month due to some annual patron members renewing (thank you!) and the addition of three new annual patron members at the Bronze tier! A 2612% increase over December and 21.47% better than January 2024. Huzzah!
  • Book and music royalties (net): $27.15, up from December’s $2.46 (a 1004% increase) and 154% better than January 2024. Royalty sources broke down like this:
    • Direct Sales: 69%
    • Amazon: 13%
    • Draft2Digital: 10%
    • Google Books: 8%

TOTAL REVENUE: $267.48 (up 2269% from December’s $11.32; 28% better than January of 2024).

I asked free-tier patrons for help in January with my efforts to raise money for a down payment to replace my old, junked car. To that end, I dedicated net revenue from every new member patron who came on board in January at the annual rate. Those three new patrons added $144.75 to the cause, and for that I am very, very grateful.

Creative Expenses

$109.85 in expenses related directly to my creative endeavors in January,  including thee annual charges (two domain name renewals and Google Workspace).  January was also the last month I had to pay for my virtual private server for my website, having moved to Amazon Lightsail, which means going foward website hosting for this site will be about eight bucks instead of thirty. I’m trying to make those member patron dollars stretch!

$109.85 is about 14% less than December’s $128.09, and 54% down from the $239.14 spent in January of 2024.

Difference:

5.96 (after $144.75 allocated to the GoFundMe campaign)

Compared to January 2024: +$36.56, or, a 119% improvement.

2025 Cumulative

+5.96
